VCU: Innovators in nurse anesthesia

The VCU Department of Nurse Anesthesia is on the cutting-edge of technology in training, research, and in the classroom itself.

Our Center For Research in Human Simulation offers five full-body human patient simulators (HPS) that mimic the anatomy, physiology, and responses to treatment similar to that of a human patient. In addition, we offer our entire nurse anesthesia curricula at distance sites across Virginia.

Both the DNAP entry to practice and post-master’s DNAP programs are offered at all sites, and through two-way synchronous video-conferencing, satellite downlinks, and web-based lessons, students at distance sites take classes simultaneously with Richmond and all other sites.
