Dr. Mark Walker, DNAP, CRNA is an Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program at Virginia Commonwealth University. He joined the Department of Nurse Anesthesia as adjunct faculty in 2024 before transitioning to full-time faculty in 2026. Dr. Walker coordinates Advanced Physiology as well as a two-course series in Advanced Pharmacology, and he oversees final-year doctoral research projects.   Prior to his full-time academic appointment, Dr. Walker served as a Senior Anesthetist at VCU Health with a focus on informatics. He continues to maintain an active clinical practice at VCU Health, specializing in pediatric anesthesia.   

Dr. Walker earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Liberty University in 2012, followed by a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia and a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice from VCU in 2017 and 2018, respectively. He is currently completing prerequisite coursework with plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Health-Related Sciences.
